HALBUR, Iowa (AP) - A fertilizer spill in west-central Iowa has killed a number of small fish in a creek near Halbur.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says anhydrous ammonia was spilled at the West Central Coop facility Saturday.

State inspectors visited the area Sunday and found dead fish along two miles of Brushy Creek.

The Department of Natural Resources plans to return to the area on Monday to complete its assessment of the fish kill.
