NEWARK, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police is investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in Newark.

The Delaware State Police says it happened Saturday around 10:30 p.m. at the Riggins Service Station located at 2650 Capitol Trail. State police say a male suspect armed with a handgun entered the station, pointed a gun at a male employee and demanded money. The employee gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled on foot. The employee was not injured.

Delaware State Police described the suspect as a white male of average build and said he was last seen wearing a dark jacket and khaki shorts.
