GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A 32-year-old LaSalle man who pleaded guilty to attempted murder after exchanging gunfire with a Weld County SWAT team has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
The Weld County District Attorney’s Office says Jeffrey Plahn was sentenced Friday on a single count of attempted murder, which lists all eight law enforcement officers who were put at risk when he fired at least three shots during the Nov. 13 standoff.
Police say Plahn barricaded himself inside his parents’ house in LaSalle for nine hours, and he was eventually shot and wounded by SWAT officers. No officers were injured.
