WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police is investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Burger King in Wilmington.

The Delaware State Police says it happened Friday night at around 10:15 p.m. at the Burger King located at 300 South Maryland Avenue. State police say a male suspect wearing a motorcycle helmet approached the drive through window on foot. The man leaned through the window, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

State police say store employees ran to the rear of the restaurant, and the suspect attempted to open the cash register while leaning through the window. The man failed to get into the register and fled.

State police described the suspect as a white male with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white jumpsuit and the motorcycle helmet.
