BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - The search for a missing 4-year-old Kotlik (KAHT’-lik) boy has turned into a recovery effort.

Terrell Hunt has been missing since Monday night.

Evan Akaran with the Kotlik Search and Rescue says the boy had been playing with friends by a slough near his house when he evidently slipped and floated away from the bank of the water.

KYUK (https://is.gd/3JS51M) says about 50 people have been searching for the boy this week and boats have been dragging the slough and river.

Alaska State Troopers say search dogs also have been at the scene.

Kotlik is a village of 650 about 165 miles northwest of Bethel.
