TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Two northern New Jersey men have admitted taking part in the armed robbery of a Target store on the day after Thanksgiving 2012.
Maryland Liggins III and Darrell Carter were arrested with two other men last June and charged with robbing the store in Union.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Carter and one of the other men entered the store and tied up employees with zip ties and robbed the store of about $50,000. Liggins acted as the getaway driver.
The men fled in a vehicle and escaped onto Route 78.
Carter pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Trenton to robbery and using a firearm in the commission of a crime. Liggins pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy.
Both men are scheduled to be sentenced in September.
