SCOTTS BLUFF, Neb. (AP) - Thunderstorms that rumbled through the Nebraska Panhandle have dropped hail and heavy rain.
A tornado warning was issued after a funnel cloud was spotted six miles northeast of Scottsbluff on Tuesday evening, and one seen a few miles west of Mitchell. It’s unclear whether the sightings were of the same cloud. The reports haven’t been confirmed.
Hail an inch in diameter was reported six miles north of Morrill, in Sioux County.
Heavy rain was reported in several spots, including more than an inch 10 miles northeast of Scottsbluff. The airport, however, reported less than two-tenths of an inch.
Region 22 emergency services director Jerry Bretthauer said Wednesday that he hadn’t heard of any damage or injuries caused by the storms.
