KENAI, Alaska (AP) - A 37-year-old Anchorage man suspected of firing shots from a moving car on the Kenai Peninsula has been charged with two counts of felony weapons misconduct and one count of possessing a gun while drunk.

The Peninsula Clarion (https://bit.ly/1nd6bit) reports Darrel J. Shannon was arrested Sunday afternoon.

Alaska State Troopers say Shannon was a passenger in a convertible driven by 56-year-old Thomas J. Northcott, who was cited for driving with a revoked license.

Troopers took a call that someone had fired a handgun from a car in a neighborhood. A trooper stopped the car near Mile 20 Kalifornsky Beach Road and recovered a handgun from Shannon with two rounds missing.

Shannon remained jailed Tuesday night at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
