WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say two sisters have been killed in a head-on crash in central Ohio.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says 65-year-old Mary Harris and 53-year-old Carole Johnson were dead at the scene after Harris’ Ford Fusion collided with a pickup truck at an intersection Monday morning near Washington Court House, southwest of Columbus.
The 20-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck and a 1-year-old child strapped into a car seat in the truck were injured and taken to a hospital. They were expected to survive.
Family members said Johnson had recently had a heart procedure and was unable to drive, so Harris was taking her to a doctor’s appointment when she pulled into an intersection in front of the truck.
The sisters lived in nearby Greenfield.
