GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The 10-year-old Kenosha runner who set a half-marathon record for boys this month fell about a minute short of improving his time in a race this weekend in Green Bay.

Noah Bliss finished the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon on Sunday in an unofficial time of one hour, 38 minutes, 17 seconds. That was 62 seconds slower than his best time, Press-Gazette Media reported (https://gbpg.net/1oHH6Mh ).

A few weeks ago, Bliss ran 13.1 miles in 1 hour, 37 minutes, 15 seconds. That’s the fastest in the world among 10-year-old boys, according to the Association of Road Racing Statisticians. Guinness World Records doesn’t track age-specific race results.

On Sunday, he finished second in the under-15 age group, about eight minutes behind the boy whose record he broke on May 3. Drew Dahlen, a 12-year-old from Green Bay, finished in one hour, 29 minutes, 57 seconds.

Noah, a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, didn’t hesitate when asked what he enjoyed most about Sunday’s race.

“Getting to run through Lambeau Field and out the players’ tunnel,” he said.

Noah ran with his father, Jeff Bliss, a veteran half-marathoner. They ran a similar pace for about 10 miles before the son left his father behind.

“I’ve had to come to grips with the fact that he’s going to pass me,” Jeff Bliss said with a smile. “I race my race, he races his race, and my wife races her race.”
