ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A fire in one unit of a southeastern Albuquerque apartment complex displaced numerous residents due to smoke damage and loss of gas and electric service.

The Fire Department says firefighters were able to keep the Sunday evening fire contained to a vacant unit but that the fire caused extensive smoke damage.

According to the Fire Department, the fire was displacing families totaling 40 people.
