BELMONT, Miss. (AP) - The Tishomingo County coroner says the body of a boater missing since Friday night has been found in waters of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway near Bay Springs Lake.

Coroner Mack Wilemon tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (https://bit.ly/1hQepFg ) the body of 25-year-old Cary Wayne Smith, of Belmont, was spotted about 11 a.m. Thursday by a southbound riverboat pilot in the waterway channel near McDougal Branch boat ramp. Wilemon says the body was recovered by the Corps of Engineers.

Sheriff Glenn Whitlock said previously that while there were other men on the boat at the same time, there was no foul play and it appeared to be an accident.

Smith’s body will be taken to Jackson for autopsy.
