TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a Buckley man riding his dirt motorcycle alongside a Pierce County creek died after he crashed and fell into the water.

The Tacoma News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1nZ3n5M) the 21-year-old rider crashed Friday afternoon when he lost control of his Honda dirt bike while riding on a curve. After losing control, he hit some logs and flew into the creek.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the man was swept downstream about 200 yards. Firefighters who arrived at the scene couldn’t resuscitate him.

The man fell into Voights Creek, a tributary of the Carbon River.
