SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a reputed gang member for an early morning shooting that killed three men outside a Southern California hookah lounge.
San Bernardino police say 32-year-old Trayvon Stokes of Moreno Valley was captured Friday in a motel. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he’s obtained an attorney.
San Bernardino police believe he opened fire shortly after 4 a.m. Friday outside a 24-hour hookah lounge where as many as 100 people had gathered.
The shooting killed 21-year-old David Lawler and his 20-year-old half-brother, Terry Freeman, both of San Bernardino. A cousin, 26-year-old Kavin Johnson of Colton, also died.
No motive was released but police say one victim was a known gang member and the gunman apparently made a gang reference before opening fire.
