Officials: 2 dead after disturbance at Fla. marina

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Two people are dead and a third hospitalized after a disturbance at a southwest Florida marina.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened at Salty Sam’s Marina on San Carlos Island.

A marina employee told The News-Press (https://newspr.es/1qGaeWe ) a resident living on a boat heard shots and called 911.

Emergency crews were on the scene. The U.S. Coast Guard is also investigating.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said there was a small fire on the boat and that search warrants were also being served on the vessel.
