EXETER, N.H. (AP) - A memorial service has been scheduled for next week for a New Hampshire police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Officer Stephen Arkell of Brentwood was shot to death after responding to a domestic disturbance call at a home Monday.
Police are scheduled to pay their respects to Arkell at Exeter High School on Tuesday, May 20, at 6 p.m.
The memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21. It’s being held at the school at 11 a.m.
Public visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home in Exeter.
Gov. Maggie Hassan has declared it Law Enforcement Memorial Week in the state and has directed that flags remain at half-staff in honor of Arkell through his funeral.
