ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (AP) - A jury has been chosen in the trial of a man accused of killing eight people in 2008.

The Daily Gazette in Sterling reports Thursday (https://bit.ly/1llDDxT) that eight women and four men were chosen for Nicholas Sheley’s latest trial. Jury selection is expected to continue Friday to choose four alternates.

The judge also denied a motion from Sheley attorney Jeremy Karlin to move the trial because of what he called a biased jury pool.

The 34-year-old Sheley has pleaded not guilty in the deaths of 29-year-old Brock Branson; 20-year-old Kilynna Blake; her 2-year-old son, Dayan; and 25-year-old Kenneth Ulve.

Sheley still faces trial in the deaths of an Arkansas couple found dead in Missouri. He is serving two life sentences for the murders of a Galesburg man and Sterling resident.
