LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 48-year-old ex-beauty supply business manager has been sentenced to prison for setting fire to his former workplace in Las Vegas.
Authorities say Reynaldo Villarama Staana Jr. was sentenced Wednesday to five years behind bars, and was ordered to pay nearly $1.7 million in restitution.
Staana was fired in August from the Beauty Supply Warehouse on Nellis Boulevard near Desert Inn Road. Authorities say he entered the business around Sept. 8 and set fire to a flammable liquid in hopes of destroying it.
Nobody was hurt, but the fire caused more than $1 million in damage.
Staana pleaded guilty in February to one count of arson of property used in or affecting interstate commerce.
