MIDDLEBURY, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 23-year-old western New York man is hospitalized after being stabbed by his brother during an argument while they were camping.
Troopers say they responded last Sunday to a report of a stabbing in the rural Wyoming County town of Middlebury, 35 miles southwest of Rochester.
Police say David Gross of Le Roy and 26-year-old Richard Gross of Byron had argued while camping in a wooded area. Troopers say Richard Gross stabbed his brother several times.
David Gross was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to Strong Memorial. Troopers say he suffered a punctured lung and multiple other injuries. He’s listed in satisfactory condition.
Richard Gross was charged with assault and is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bail. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
