JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Alaska Judicial Council plans to take public comment as it evaluates judges who will be on this year’s ballot.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday, with members of the public invited to participate via their respective legislative information offices. The council, in a release, said people can also send in comments by mail or email.

Susanne DiPietro is the council’s executive director. She says the council will meet June 6 to discuss and vote on recommendations for the 14 judges standing for retention.

She said the council does not have advertising money, which was taken away by the state Legislature.
