BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Four men have been sentenced to prison for a fatal attack on a 96-year-old World War II veteran inside his home.

Two of the men, 18-year-old Shaquar Pratcher and 23-year-old Elhajji Eshabazz, were sentenced Wednesday to 25 years to life after being convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Levi Clayton.

Nineteen-year-old Justice Feggans was sentenced to 15 years after pleading guilty to burglary and 20-year-old Jordan McKinnon, who also admitted to burglary, received an eight-year sentence.

Clayton died 4 1/2 months after sustaining a fractured jaw, broken nose and other injuries in the November 2012 assault.

Surveillance cameras on Clayton’s home show the deacon throwing a lamp out a window trying to thwart the break-in.

Authorities say the attackers believed Clayton’s caretaker had money inside from drug sales.
