PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Sunoco Inc.’s retired chairman and chief executive officer has made a $2.5 million commitment to his alma mater Villanova University.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (https://bit.ly/1mPbhBp) said Monday that John Drosdick’s gift will fund a new engineering lab in the Center for Engineering Education and Research.
Drosdick is a Bryn Mawr resident and a 1965 Villanova engineering graduate. He was chair of the university’s Board of Trustees from 2001 until 2008.
Villanova said its planned Engineering Innovation Lab will feature a two-story, 3,330 square-foot open garage equipped with an overhead crane that will enable engineering work that can’t be taught in a classroom.
