CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - The power is back on for thousands of residents in southern Utah who were without it for several hours after a spring snowstorm blew through the region.

High winds downed power lines in Cedar City Saturday night and a fresh layer of snow coated much of Iron County on Sunday.

At one point, nearly 7,000 homes in Cedar City were without power. Another 3,600 were affected across LaVerkin, Rockville, Springdale, Toquerville and Virgin.

The (St. George) Spectrum reports wind gusts up to 55 miles per hour downed power lines, uprooted a tree in Cedar City and blew several trampolines out of yards.

The same storm brought more than a foot of snow to parts of Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming, where portions of Interstate 80 were shut down.
