FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) - A 150-pound piece of limestone that was part of the Pentagon hit in the September 11 terrorist attack arrived at Sea-Tac Airport Monday and was received in a ceremony by firefighters from South King Fire and Rescue.
The limestone delivered by Alaska Air Cargo will complete a memorial in Federal Way that will be one of the few in the country that contains artifacts from all three 9/11 locations. The memorial also includes a 10-foot steel beam from the wreckage of the World Trade Center in New York and a rock from the airplane crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The Federal Way memorial is expected to be dedicated this Sept. 11.
