HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - The DeSoto County School Board plans to put its agendas and a summary of its minutes online.

The Commercial Appeal (https://bit.ly/1l275bO ) reports that the move is intended to make operations more transparent.

Board members approved the move last week.

Associate Superintendant Keith Williams says it may take another meeting to get everything running, but the plan is to have a tentative agenda available to the public before each meeting.

Board members could still add items to the tentative agenda.

The board normally meets twice a month during the school year.

With more than 40 schools countywide, DeSoto County Schools is Mississippi’s largest public district.
