STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - A 16-year-old boy faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with the slaying of a man at a Staunton golf course.

Staunton police tell media outlets that a city employee found the body of 26-year-old Julian L. Parrott of Staunton last week near the 18th hole at the Gypsy Hill Park course.

The juvenile is being held at the Shenandoah Valley Detention Center. His name wasn’t released.



Details of the slaying haven’t been released.

Parrott’s death is the first homicide in Staunton this year.
