GROTON, Vt. (AP) - Families who want to learn about the outdoors and camping are encouraged to take part in a weekend event at a lakeside state park in Groton.

The event takes place May 30-June 1 at Stillwater State Park. The deadline to register is May 15.

The event costs $175 and includes a campsite for up to eight people, classes and most equipment.



Campers will get to take three classes. Topics range from mountain biking and outdoor wild game cooking to archery and wildness survival. They also will have access to canoes and kayaks and activities like fly fishing, skeet shooting, and building a bat house.

There will also be a program on raptors, featuring live owls and hawks.

Families may also stay Sunday night for free.
