SAN DIEGO (AP) - Chargers general manager Tom Telesco strengthened his pass defense and added a backup offensive lineman in the first three rounds of the NFL draft.

Now he’ll sit out the fourth round - the price for moving up in the second round to take Georgia Tech outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu - and have picks in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds on Saturday.

Telesco says the third day of the draft “is just a fun day.” He says teams mine through the players left on the board to try to find role players “and if you’re lucky, maybe even be a starter. This is the day that scouts really like.”

The Chargers might still be looking for a wide receiver, nose tackle and cornerback.

Telesco took Notre Dame guard Chris Watt in the third round.
