PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a fatal accident involving four vehicles appears to be the result of drag racing.
The Arizona Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1iC5Ly3) that one person is dead after two cars were drag racing Friday night near the Phoenix-Tempe border.
Sgt. Trent Crump says a Chevrolet Camaro and a Ford Mustang were traveling at speeds higher than 100 mph around 9:30 p.m.
Crump says the Camaro’s driver lost control and crossed a center line.
Investigators say a BMW hit the Camaro’s passenger door and then the Camaro collided with a Chrysler.
Crump says the driver of the Camaro died at a hospital but the occupants of the BWM and Chrysler suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police say the driver of the Mustang fled the scene.
