LEMING, Texas (AP) - Mourners will gather to remember a San Antonio-area police officer who was fatally shot while off-duty outside a tattoo parlor he co-owned.
A funeral mass is scheduled Saturday afternoon for Balcones Heights police Officer Julian Pesina. The service will be held in Leming, about 25 miles south of San Antonio.
San Antonio police are seeking two masked men who opened fire on Pesina last Sunday night as he was closing his tattoo shop. Investigators say Pesina was ambushed.
Balcones Heights police Chief Henry Dominguez says the healing process has started and the next step is to lay Pesina to rest.
