MACHIASPORT, Maine (AP) - Prisons officials say state police are reviewing the death of an inmate at the Downeast Correctional Facility.
Officials say 32-year-old Phillip Kay died Friday afternoon. He was more than four years into a 12-year split sentence for elevated aggravated assault at the Machiasport facility.
The medical examiner’s office is also reviewing the death in accordance with policy.
No other details were immediately released.
