YORK, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania man is charged with simple assault and harassment after police say he pushed down his girlfriend’s 7-year-old son last month and put tape over his mouth.

The York Daily Record/Sunday News reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/Seg9Tb ) that 46-year-old Christopher Weaver of Spring Grove was in the local jail.

Authorities say the boy had minor injuries after the April 16 incident.

The child’s mother tells police that Weaver said he did it because the boy was talking too much.

The online court docket doesn’t list a defense lawyer for Weaver. He’s also facing simple assault and harassment charges for a separate incident.
