FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky animal shelters could not use gas chambers to euthanize dogs, cats and other animals under a bill that passed the House of Representatives on Friday.

The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Joni Jenkins, D-Shively, said most of the state’s animal shelters stopped using gas chambers about 10 years ago. But she said the purpose of the bill was to find those that still do and stop them.
