KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona transportation authorities are making improvements to a stretch of the main highway between Phoenix and Las Vegas.
The Arizona Department of Transportation has started construction this week to widen a 3-mile segment of U.S. 93, about 20 miles north of Wikieup.
The $20 million project includes putting in new lanes for a four-lane divided highway.
ADOT says crews will erect a barrier wall along the shoulder of the southbound lanes Tuesday until March 13.
The agency says construction will take place Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and drivers should take into account 10 to 15 minutes of extra travel time.
