KELSO, Wash. (AP) - A southwest Washington man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for strangling his stepfather last September and leaving the body in the house they shared.

The Daily News of Longview reports (https://is.gd/nvNb1e ) that 57-year-old Bruce Wayne Albee of Kelso was sentenced Thursday to nearly 23 years in prison.

Albee gave conflicting explanations but told Judge Marilyn Haan that 81-year-old Charles Rees made him angry.

Albee moved in with Rees to help care for the man after Albee’s mother died.
