CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Some minor flooding is occurring in extreme western Wyoming.

The flooding is occurring across the Star Valley area from melting snow.

The Lincoln County emergency management has made sandbags available in Afton and near Thayne for anyone who needs them.

The National Weather Service says the ground is too frozen to soak in the water and so it just ends up pooling in low areas and outlets.

Rain Thursday morning was expected to make the situation worse.

However, a cold front passing through the state should ease the flooding starting Thursday night.
