TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A restaurant chain in the Tampa Bay area is holding a fundraiser to help with the college fund of a little girl whose father was shot and killed in a movie theater.
PDQ restaurants’ six Tampa Bay area locations will donate a portion of all sales on Sunday, March 9, to the college fund of Alexis Oulson.
She is the daughter of Chad Oulson, who was shot and killed in a Wesley Chapel movie theater on Jan. 13 after a dispute over texting. Retired Tampa police captain Curtis Reeves was charged with second-degree murder. He is in jail awaiting trial.
A news release from PDQ says that the 43-year-old Oulson was researching college funds for his daughter in the weeks before he died.
