DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police have released the name of a man whose body was found in a wooded area of a park along the Des Moines River.

The Des Moines Register says (https://dmreg.co/NQ4pDH ) the man was identified as 40-year-old Phillip Stanley, of Des Moines.

A couple walking in Birdland Park found the partly clothed body Friday morning near a tree adjacent to a pond. No stab or gunshot wounds were visible on the body. An autopsy was performed on Monday.



Des Moines Police Sgt. Jason Halifax says a crime is not suspected in Stanley’s death.
