NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (AP) - A 66-year-old man who suffered a heart attack during a Heart Association fundraising run has died at a central New York hospital.
Acquaintances of Michael Wofford of Glenfield in Lewis County tell local media outlets that he died early Monday at a Utica hospital, where he had been taken after collapsing Saturday during the America’s Greatest Heart Run and Walk in nearby New Hartford.
A nurse and two state troopers revived Wofford after he suffered a heart attack that left him with no pulse. He was walking in the race as a member of a team from a local community services organization.
