TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The Drexel Heights Fire District says a man has been severely burned and a sheriff’s deputy has received minor injuries in a Tucson home fire.
District spokeswoman Tracy Koslowski tells the Arizona Daily Star (https://bit.ly/1dkrrw9 ) that firefighters rescued the man after receiving a report of the blaze around 4:30 p.m. Monday. She says they found a man “yelling for help from inside his living room.”
Koslowski says the man was transported to a hospital with severe burns, and a Pima County sheriff’s deputy also went to a hospital, with minor injuries.
She says firefighters controlled the blaze within minutes of saving the man. She says the fire was contained to the living room, but smoke filled the home. She says no smoke alarms went off.
Officials are investigating the fire’s cause.
