MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 31-year-old Macomb County woman charged with biting off part of her ex-boyfriend’s ear has been ordered to stand trial.

A preliminary examination was held Monday for Danielle Nebelung in 41A District Court in Shelby Township.

Nebelung is charged with assault with intent to maim and aggravated assault.

Anthony Caruso says he and Nebelung argued March 8 at their Macomb Township home, 25 miles north of Detroit.

The 36-year-old Caruso testified Monday that Nebelung jumped on his back and grabbed his throat before biting his ear. Doctors have tried to reattach the bitten part of his ear.

Nebelung is free on bond. Her next scheduled hearing is April 14 in Macomb County Circuit Court.
