GREAT NECK, N.Y. (AP) - A 54-year-old Long Island man walking along a sidewalk was killed when an out-of-control vehicle jumped the curb and struck him.

Adrian Vasquez of Great Neck was pronounced dead following Sunday’s 9:35 a.m. accident in Great Neck.

According to Newsday (https://bit.ly/1mExhh6 ), he was walking east on Old Mill Road when he was struck.



Police say a 71-year-old man driving west lost control of his Lexus, striking a street sign and Vasquez.

No charges were immediately filed. The investigation is continuing.
