PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police and the Allegheny County district attorney are trying to figure out why 911 calls keep coming from the home of former mayoral candidate and community activist Abdula Jamal Richardson.
Richardson tells KDKA-TV (https://cbsloc.al/1khrw4H ) that he and his family aren’t responsible for the calls, which authorities number at more than two dozen in the last five weeks.
Richardson is so upset, he now wants police to get a search warrant to enter his home, which officers insist on doing each time they respond.
Richardson says the calls have escalated from reports of a domestic dispute, to a woman being strangled and held captive.
Richardson finished a distant fourth in the May Democratic mayoral primary in a long-shot campaign largely derailed by his drunken driving arrest last April.
