CHICAGO (AP) - Hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil to remember a northern Illinois father and daughter who died when their small plane crashed in Florida.
Fifty-three-year-old Jeffrey Bronken and his 15-year-old daughter, Katherine, were from the suburb of Round Lake, about 40 miles northwest of Chicago.
The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1ohtPux ) Sunday’s vigil was organized by students at Grant High School, which Katherine attended.
A wake will be held Monday at the Cultural and Civic Center in Round Lake Beach and a funeral for the two will be held Tuesday at St. Bede Church in Ingleside.
Their plane nose-dived on March 22 after the Jeffery Bronken reported fuel-related issues to air traffic controllers. He was killed in the crash; his daughter died several days later. A 15-year-old passenger survived.
