LAS VEGAS (AP) - Clark County officials have issued a dust advisory in advance of heavy winds expected to sweep through the Las Vegas area.

The warning goes into effect Monday afternoon and runs through Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service says a low pressure system is predicted to bring gusts of up to 50 mph in the valley, with winds up to 55 mph in the Spring Mountains and Red Rock Canyon.

Clark County air quality officials are issuing notices to construction sites to take steps to prevent blowing dust.

Weather service officials also warn of crosswinds that could make freeway driving difficult.
