MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - One person has died after a hit-and-run in Memphis and police are searching for two people who were in the car involved.

Police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph says 59-year-old Curtis Echols died at about 8:50 p.m. Saturday after being hit by a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu.

Rudolph says the vehicle wasn’t at the scene when police arrived, but the owner called later and said she loaned the car to two people.

The owner noticed damage on the car after it had been returned. Rudolph says police are searching for the two people in the car at the time of the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
