CINCINNATI (AP) - Officials say a voting investigation into a former Ohio treasurer has found no wrongdoing.

A special prosecutor looking into the case says he decided there was no reason to bring charges against Joe Deters, who’s now the prosecutor in Hamilton County.

The investigation started after Deters’ estranged wife alleged that he was voting in suburban Cincinnati after he moved out of their home.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation concluded last month that Deters didn’t violate any laws before handing the case over to the special prosecutor.

Deters served as Ohio’s treasurer just over a decade ago.
