SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (AP) - When her two German shepherd puppies were stolen, a San Francisco Bay Area woman thought she’d never see them again.
Then she went online and found them for sale on Craigslist.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1eZpohQ) that the woman worked with police to set up a sting - tricking the seller into meeting at a location where he was arrested.
Thirty-year-old Richard Coleman of San Leandro is in custody on suspicion of possessing stolen property and attempted extortion. His bail was set at $30,000.
San Leandro police say the puppies were unharmed and have been returned to their home in Livermore.
