OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - Olive Branch Middle School will get a face-lift as part of a routine upgrade process for schools throughout the DeSoto County system.
DeSoto School Board members hired Allen & Hoshall for architectural services related to the project, for which no cost or timetable has been determined.
The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1mwtYIR ) plans are to replace floor and ceiling tiles in classrooms, and paint and replace old chalkboards and whiteboards with up-to-date equipment.
Physical plant director Jerry White says the district, with 40-plus schools spread throughout the county, chooses a different school each year to be updated and Olive Branch Middle is this year’s target.
White says the district had spent the past two years getting Horn Lake Middle up to date, and Oak Grove Central Elementary in Hernando before that.
