MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - An emergency dispatcher has been killed in a collision involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 5 near Medford.

Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings says 58-year-old Karen Lee Greenstein of Ashland was returning home early Thursday from her shift at Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon when her car collided head-on with a Dodge Grand Caravan that was going north in the southbound lanes.

Hastings says the wrong-way driver - 32-year-old Richard Scott of Grants Pass - was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Hastings says alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the 3 a.m. crash. But the investigation is not over and any witnesses are asked to contact police.
